Nettle: A nourishing herb with a storehouse of nutrition. Nettle's high iron and calcium contents, as well as an excellent source of folic acid, an essential nutrient during pregnancy make this must during pregnancy. Its nutrients also include vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin K, potassium, and magnesium. Nettle also supports uterine tone and strengthens the kidneys and adrenal glands.

Red Raspberry Leaf: Frequently used during pregnancy and labor to strengthen and tone the uterus, theoretically assisting contractions and preventing hemorrhage. A good source of magnesium, calcium, antioxidants, and an excellent source of potassium.

Alfalfa: Contains many essential nutrients including trace minerals, chlorophyll and vitamin K, a nutrient necessary for blood clotting. Many midwives encourage alfalfa during pregnancy to decrease postpartum bleeding and the chance of hemorrhaging. Alfalfa also increases breast milk production. (See our Mama's Milk Tea)

Oat Straw: Loaded with nutrients such as chromium (important for healthy blood sugar control), magnesium, iron, calcium, phosphorous, vitamins A, C, and Bs, oat straw is excellent in supporting a healthy pregnancy as well as providing a calming and relaxing effect for mom.

Moringa: High in iron to help ward off anemia. Iron also plays a crucial role in cortisol regulation to manage stress levels. Moringa is packed with antioxidants, anti-inflammatory compounds, and may aid in digestion.

Rosehips:
Powerhouse of vitamin C plus other vitamins and minerals to help boost the immune system.

Instructions:
Shake contents to ensure even blend distribution. Bring water to a rolling boil (212°F). Pour 8 oz of water per 2 tsps of your organic loose leaf tea, cover, and steep for at least 15 minutes. For maximum herbal benefit, steep for 8+ hours in the refrigerator. Strain and sweeten with 2 tsps local honey per cup or sweetener of your choice. Enjoy 3 to 4 cups per day after the first trimester or as directed by your midwife or healthcare professional.
